CCGC Clinical Day School Internships

CCGC Therapuetic School Internships

Interns placed in the school have the ability to develop skills in the areas of diagnostic assessment, individual/group/family therapy, case management, special education, and working as part of a multidisciplinary team. Being in a clinical day school, interns also gain experience working in a fast-paced milieu setting as well as learning the PPT/IEP process and special education laws and requirements. They learn the basics of the Attachment, Regulation, and Competency (ARC) model of treatment and play an active role in supporting the use of ARC interventions throughout the school. Interns are given the opportunity to lead and/or co-lead social skills groups, and are expected to maintain a caseload of students for whom they will provide individual therapy, case management, and special education reporting as mandated by law.  School interns are provided individual supervision on a weekly basis by a licensed clinician in their field as well as the opportunity to participate in weekly school clinical team meetings for case collaboration.
