HARTFORD FOUNDATION AWARDS GRANT
A grant of $6000 has been awarded by the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving to the Community Child Guidance Clinic in Manchester to increase clinic outreach and improve services provided to the Manchester community.
“This grant will help our staff better meet the needs of our clients, many of whom speak a language other than English in the home. It will also help refresh the space where our clients and students come every day. We have updated our artwork, therapeutic toys, waiting rooms, and classrooms. Without the continued support from the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving, we would not be able to provide high quality mental health and special education services, so we are very grateful for our relationship.”
-Dr. Jamie Bellenoit, Executive Director of CCGC.
This grant will help the Clinic to expand outreach into areas that may be underserved not only by CCGC but by mental health organizations in general. By providing more information, and ensuring that materials are available in multiple languages, the Clinic aims to make its services available and accessible to more children than ever before. This grant will also the Clinic to improve the physical spaces where services are provided, creating the opportunity to complete minor renovations in both Clinic buildings. These changes will aim to create a more therapeutic, and nurturing environment for children and will also be executed with a goal to better reflect the diverse population of young people that CCGC serves.
These funds are available via the H. Louise Ruddell Charitable Fund.
Since opening its doors in 1959, the Community Child Guidance Clinic has provided services to thousands of children across central Connecticut who struggle with behavioral, emotional, and mental health issues. CCGC is proud to be able to offer families a variety of different services to help address their concerns including outpatient therapy, an intensive outpatient program, a clinical day school, and in-home services. No matter what a family struggles with, CCGC is here to help and support children in our community.
